So show up with your camera, creative mind and smile, and stay tuned for updates! We would like to bring to your attention a new volunteer publishing opportunity, which is part of an ongoing collaboration between the Trinity Photography Club and trinity magazine, Trinity College’s official alumni publication. Called “Snapshot of the week,” the project aims to capture the sights and sounds and student life of Trinity College.
On a weekly or biweekly basis, a designated volunteer will set out to photograph the people and activities of the College. The volunteer will submit their top three photos to the Photography Club and one of these will be selected by the editor of trinity magazine to be published on the trinity magazine website, with additional photos being published on the Photography Club website . The volunteer photographer will also be responsible for writing a 75-word blurb to accompany the photograph chosen for trinity, which should indicate the date the photo was taken and provide a moment-in-time story about the image. You can find a sample “Snapshots” submission here: http://magazine.trinity.utoronto.ca/snapshot/ . All submitted photos will be automatically entered in the Club’s annual photo contest, with the winners being announced at its end-of-year social event. Trinity magazine sponsors an award for the top overall winner and each volunteer photographer will be awarded a certificate of recognition, issued from the Provost’s office, upon successful completion of the project. If you are interested in contributing to this project, please send us an email with the subject title “Snapshots application” and your contact information (full name, year of study, college, active email address and phone number). Your information will be kept confidential and will be used solely for the purpose of communication between you, the Photography Club and trinity magazine. |
